Winter Sunday Afternoon In Suna

Late December, just a couple of days left in the year, and the place to be this Sunday afternoon is here on the Promenade in the Suna part of Verbania. 

And why not? Look at these views. And Suna faces the sun more directly and for longer than any other town on our part of the lake, making the stroll nice and wintry warm.

Looking across the lake to Stresa you can watch the sun disappear below the mountain behind Stresa. And then, you can stop into Cafe Estremadura on the Suna lakefront for tea and cookies. They have a wide selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate, and other warming drinks. With dim lighting and funky retro furniture, it's one of my favorite cozy places in the winter.
